Mommy I Help

This morning I had a little helper while packing my lunch. Who could say no to this cutie?

A Quick Visit

We are so lucky to not only have both sets of Paige's grandparents close by, but almost all of her great grandparents too. Yesterday we made a quick trip to visit Granna and Papa (my grandparents). She had lots of fun roaming their living room looking for things to get into not stopping for a second. She enjoyed watching Granna's lamp turn on and off and playing with Papa's hat. It was a great visit and I hope to make more with summer just around the corner.

Trailer Baby

Yesterday we had an unplanned stop at Gigi's pool after school. It was field day and hot so I thought we would take a dip. I already sent a bag full of swim diapers and a swim suit for days like this so you had some clothes to change into. You enjoyed the pool until we had to quickly leave. Considering this was not planned, I did not have the diaper bag meaning no extra clothes or diapers.

So...Gigi dressed you in your big cousin's diaper that was two sizes too big out of their "extra stash bag" and handed you off to me. We didn't even have time to put your clothes back on. You hung out in just your diaper for the rest of the night because what's the point of getting dressed when bath time was less than an hour away.

Guess there's a first for everything!

Letters to Paige: 11 Months

Dear Paige,

You have now entered the last month of the first year of your sweet little life. You are still an amazing little girl and I feel so lucky to call you mine! This letter is coming late as is it getting harder and harder to find time to sit since you are on the go so much!

You are a mover! No walking yet or anything close, but you get places just fine by crawling or cruising furniture. You are fearless! You climb over over our legs, go head first off the bed of couch, and have even tried the stairs. There is no holding you back!

Since you have this fearless personality we play a little rough with you. You love to be hung upside down from your feet (flipping your liver we like to call it) and daddy loves to tickle and kiss you. You just giggle away when you two play together. You will never know how much he loves you. You can probably get whatever you want out of him if you play your cards right. (shhh...don't tell him I told his secret!) you are definitely his life now.

Your favorite toys are now not toys. Whatever we have or is not on the floor is what you want to play with. Remotes, paper, magazines are just a few to mention. You have become more independent while playing. You tend to leave us to go to the playroom. You simply wave goodbye and crawl away. I like how you can occupy yourself and do not have to have us with you every minute of the day but of course we play with you often.

You are almost done with formula and eating more and more table foods. You love to eat. Sometimes too much too fast which makes me very nervous!

You are still quite the little entertainer. You love to dance and Mrs. Carrie even thinks you sing. Your favorite song is "Jump Rope" or "Up Down" as we call it. As soon as we start singing it you immediately start shaking side to side and throw your arms in the air. You demand (and get) attention everywhere we go. You are quite the social butterfly.

Your sweet personality is developing more and more each day. I love the person you are becoming. I hope you keep this bubbly, easy going attitude for many years to come.

Next time you will be a year old. A YEAR!! Wow how time flies. We are busy getting ready for your owl themed party to celebrate the wonderful day you entered this world. That was such an unforgettable day that I will cherish forever. It was the day I met you, my beautiful daughter!

First Dip of the Season

Paige had her first dip of the season in the pool yesterday. Knowing that she LOVES the bathtub I didn't think we would have a problem in the pool, but you never know until you try it. It was really cold, but she didn't seem to mind. She sat and played, tried to drink the water, splashed herself, and even took her for a little swim with Gigi.

I think she liked it...what about you? Looks like we will be spending many summer days in the pool!

Take Me Out to the Ball Game

Yesterday afternoon went a little like this:

4:30 Left school as usual and picked Paige up from day care.

4:40 Missed call from my dad while I was inside getting P. (When I saw it I didn't really think much of it considering he butt dials me at least once a week.)

4:40ish text from my dad to call him. I'm now worried.

4:45 Called him back immediately when I saw the text. But...to my surprise he was offering me two tickets to that night's Rangers game AND to keep Paige.

Considering it was the beginning of Jake's weekend and I have been wanting to go to a baseball game, I couldn't pass up the opportunity. So within an hour and half my normal mundane Monday turned into an impromptu date night at the ball park.

We had great seats! We were in section 33 row 17. Pretty much 17 rows up from the Rangers dugout. So close you could "smell the sweat"(dad's words). So close we could have easily gone home with a souvenir bat from Hamilton which I did not know he was infamous for this bat throwing. Two bats literally went flying just a few rows up.

We had such a great time! I'm not the biggest baseball fan, but I do enjoy being at the ballpark watching it in person. I love the crowd cheering as a whole like we are all friends, the dot races, and the whole stadium stafium in excitement loudly encouraging the last batter. I am so glad the night I thought would happen at 4:30 was quickly changed for the good based off one phone call.

A special thanks to my dad for passing the tickets along to us. THANK YOU!! We really had a great time!

Helping A Sister Out

Tonight we had the privilege to keep our niece and nephew for a few hours so their parents could go enjoy a movie. This was a first for us to have both of them. It was a crazy hour and half, then a calm few after that.

We played, read books, went outside, ate dinner, took baths, put two babies to sleep, and watched the The Lion King. It was a fun filled night to say the least! I love how all the kids are so close in age and get to see each other so often. Hopefully they will continue to grow up together having sleep overs at each other's houses.

On a side note...

Right now J (2 1/2) is snuggled up with me on the couch watching a movie. I cannot wrap my brain around the fact that this will be Paige in just a few short months. Crazy! I know she will grow into a toddler, child, teen, young adult, and so forth but I cannot see past today. She will always be my sweet baby P in my eyes!
